Animals and energy
Many people don’t realise how strongly animals respond to energy. In many ways they are even more sensitive than humans.
Most pet owners know this from experience: a cat or dog has favourite spots in the house, while other places they completely avoid. They are picking up on the subtle energies of the space – earth lines, underground water, different energetic currents.
Animals also gravitate towards certain people. They don’t listen to words or stories; they sense the vibe. At the vet they often become restless, because they feel the concentrated stress, fear and pain of other animals in the building. This same sensitivity makes them beautiful receivers of gentle energy work.
What happens in an animal session?
For animals I mainly offer Prananadi® energy treatments, sometimes combined with gentle Access body processes when appropriate. Everything is hands-on, calm and respectful, always adapted to the size and temperament of your pet.
Prananadi is a Tibetan, reiki-like, hands-on energy method that can be used with both humans and animals as a gentle complementary support. If you are familiar with pet reiki, you can imagine Prananadi in a very similar way – soft, subtle energy channelled through the hands, coming from a different ancient Tibetan lineage.
Prananadi® can support the immune system, ease pain and tension (for example after surgery or injury), improve sleep, lift low mood and help with general lack of vitality. Certain body processes can be used as simple two-point holds (for example crown area and chest) when your animal is able to lie down and relax. The goal is not to “fix” them, rather to give their body and nervous system a deeper chance to soften and rebalance.
Energy work is a complementary support and does not replace veterinary diagnosis or treatment.
Practical details and safety
Animal sessions take place in a calm, safe environment with the owner present at all times. Please bring your pet clean and well-groomed, and you are welcome to bring their own bed, blanket or favourite toy. Familiar smells and textures help them settle more easily.
We can work on their own bed on the floor, or on a protected cover on the sofa / treatment table if that feels right for them. For dogs I ask that they wear a muzzle, simply because old injuries, fractures or surgical areas can temporarily feel more intense while the energy moves, and even the gentlest dog can react instinctively.
After a session, some animals sleep deeply, others become more playful or relaxed. I recommend that you observe your pet a little more closely for a day or two and allow them a quiet, peaceful space.
This type of work is still quite unique – very few practitioners offer dedicated energy sessions for pets – yet our animals also deserve support, not only on the physical level, but in the deeper layers of their energy and emotions as well.
Session length for different animals
An animal’s nervous system reacts quickly to energy, so sessions are shorter than for humans. As a general guideline:
very small animals (hamster, guinea pig etc.): 5–7 minutes
cats and small dogs (e.g. dachshund size): 10–15 minutes
medium-sized dogs: 15–20 minutes
large dogs: up to 25 minutes maximum
This is usually all they require in one go. You can book a one-off session, or choose weekly or fortnightly support as part of your pet’s wellbeing routine – just as you might invest in grooming, high-quality food or regular check-ups.
Animals and behaviour
I’m happy to work with calm, well-behaved pets.
If an animal has serious behavioural or psychological issues (for example aggression, attacking or biting), please seek support from a qualified trainer, behaviourist or veterinarian.
For safety reasons I’m not able to offer sessions for animals who show aggressive or unsafe behaviour.
There is a minimum session fee for all animal work, regardless of size – you are paying for the service, not for the number of kilos.
– Standard small / medium animal session (approx. 5–20 minutes): £25 per session
– for very small animals (hamster, guinea pig etc.), rabbits, cats and small to medium-sized dogs
– Large dog session (up to 25 minutes): £30 per session
You can choose a one-off session, or include this as a weekly or fortnightly part of your pet’s overall care and support.
